You may think that it is enough to have climbed Mount Everest from the outside, but not a bit of it. In this script Spike Milligan makes his heroes do it the hard way — from the inside!
Music
- The BBC Radio Orchestra was conducted by Wally Stott
- Max Geldray plays The Lady is a Tramp (Richard Rodgers / Lorenz Hart)
- The Ray Ellington Quartet plays Schooldays (Robinson)
Technical
Originally recorded on TLO 51769 (Agfa FR tape stock at 15 ips ¼" tape recorded at Broadcasting House).[1]
Ted Kendall's Restoration
The source used for this recording was the most problematical of the fourth season. A wire recording made from an AM transmission. The sound was actually quite good for a wire recording, but the only copy available to Kendall had appalling wow throughout and slurred nearly to a stop at several points. Judicious use (and calculated abuse) of CEDAR Respeed produced the result found on the recording of the show from Compendium 14, which at least doesn't get in the way of the comedy.
