The year 1956 is missing! Seagoon just wanted to buy a cheap calendar from Eccles, but all the calendars for that year have gone. Seagoon scours the lingth, length and longth of England. Grytpype-Thynne and Moriarty are also on the trail - especially as there's a cash reward for finding it. But there are problems: what does the lost year look like and where is it? All roads lead to Africa, but a hundred miles inland, Grytpype-Thynne steals Neddie's cash and leaves him desperate for water. Can Seagoon find water in time? Is Tarzan Bluebottle really a mirage? Has anyone got a record of Harry Secombe singing On with the Motley? And will Eccles ever find the North Pole?
