A pre-recording session (DLO 42570A [effects]) took place Sunday 24 November 1957, 5pm. at The Camden Theatre, Camden Town, London. The recording for transmission (TLO 42570) was created later that same Sunday, at 9.15pm, also at The Camden.
The first Home Service broadcast was the next day, Monday at 8.30pm 25 November 1957, its ratings were 1.5 million. It was then repeated on the Light Programme the following Thursday 28 November 1957 at 9pm to 3.0 million listeners.
